Hair Health Tips from Chime Edwards! Great advice and lots of Info! :)
Day two after after wash and condition with Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose conditioner and Flax Seed Gel twist out. See the YouTube videos I posted about these two natural hair solutions above.
I must say I absolutely love the homemade Flax Seed gel. I have been using it every day for a week now and the jar in my refrigerator is still full!
The Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose conditioner is great for after wash. I love the way it feels and I can instantly feel my hair soaking up the moisture. I didn’t like it for cowashing however, and I haven’t used it as a deep conditioner yet as is mentioned on the bottle. I will post up more about that once I have done so.
I have also switched to only using coconut oil in my hair for moisture upkeep and tea tree oil on my scalp about the third or fourth day between washes. I think I am going to move that up to the third and 6th days and see how that works. I am loving the results of the natural products so far and my wallet is too!
More info and reviews to come!
Twists with Flax seed gel
Since I began and completed my cleanse (more details on my blog wyzdomsoulandfood.blogspot.com) I have been on mostly all natural products. When possible, and when affordable, I have tried to only buy health and beauty products that are at least 80% natural and organic. I will blog soon about why that is so important to me.
Any way, since that time I have been pretty happy with most of my findings. That is unless we are talking about haircare products. I have natural hair (I stopped relaxing in 2009) and it has grown pretty long now. I would love to keep it nice and healthy, but more often I find that it is dry and losing length. None of the natural products that I have access to are made for my natural Black hair. The products I find online all cost a million dollars, or so it seems to this single mom! So what do I do?
I am officially embarking on a journey to test and find the best organic and natural products out there. I will be blogging about the results here and at times on my other blog. I will post recipes of home remedies I come across for any of you to try as well. I already have a few of my own that I will post soon.
Being a Vegan has been hard work. I know that all Vegans might not feel this way, but it’s true if you do it right. I have been researching and adjusting so much. I definitely feel it is worth it. What does this have to do with my hair you might ask??? Well, before it would not have mattered if a product or home remedy included egg or mayo or some other animal product. Now, I just can’t do it. However, if I hear/read good reviews on a cruelty free organic product that might have milk in it or something, I will be sure to post about it and let all of you know that I have not tested it.
Well, I guess that’s all there is to say about my little journey. Thanks to anyone who follows, supports, and even contributes along the way. Wish me luck!
